Why cant "Convert to native iTunes videos" be used to watch videos on ipad?

Post  colutti on Fri Jan 25, 2013 1:13 pm

Hello

Some videos that I download from internet and are in a mp4/mov format I can just add them to itunes and sync them to my ipad. It works without any problems.

There is an option called "Convert to native iTunes videos" that seems to convert videos to mp4 and add those videos to Itunes. Why cant those videos be watched on ipad? What is the difference between those converted videos to those I download from internet?

Hi,

MP4 and MOV files are indeed directly compatible with iTunes. However, they are not always compatible with iPad: for instance, their framerate might be too high.

1) If you do not wish to alter those videos, keep the option “Import compatible videos directly” (on the main window) checked. The videos will remain how they are. Some of them might not be playable on your iPad.

2) If you do wish to unsure full compatibility with your iPad, uncheck the option. All your videos will be converted (if you use import methods 5-8 ).
